Reference for Mia Mia acted as companion for my elderly father Cyril for two hours a week and occasionally twice a week. This enabled me to take my also elderly but fitter mother out for a break from being his carer. Dad could become extremely anxious if my mum was away from him for any length of time and had become emotionally dependent on her. Mia was able act with understanding and compassion and during her time with him and provide reassurance. This could be difficult as he would watch the clock and feel that we had been away for what felt like a long-time to him. She took the time to get to know dad as much as possible eliciting information regarding his previous fondness of gardening. He no longer felt comfortable to leave the house but Mia was able to encourage him to do a short walk in the garden and talk about the plants. Mia also managed to get dad to talk a little about his wartime experience with the RAF. She brought him back photos of the type of aircraft that he had been a member of the crew of after visiting a museum. As a consequence I can’t recommend Mia highly enough to in this role. She made a hugh difference to my mum and myself at a difficult time and also for my dad during his decline. Provided by Kay, November 2024 |
From time to time over the last few years Mia has been a friendly, caring and helpful companion to me. She arrives at my house promptly and greets me with a lovely smile. She is a good driver and happy to fit in with my requests. I have been taken for trips out and I have stayed at home whilst she has made my coffee and decluttered my wardrobes!
You can rely on Mia!

Mia helped me and my sister in the last year of my mother’s life. She was always very caring and efficient and my mum looked forward to her visits. She was punctual , trustworthy , reliable and with close attention to detail. She always produced very tasty meals with just the right content and amount and was able to do shopping if required and always left everywhere clean and tidy. She encouraged my mum to be out of bed as much as possible but didn’t overtire her. P.W.
